The Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust supports vital rolling stock, infrastructure and educational projects to protect and preserve the Railway so it can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Over ten years, the incredible support we’ve received from generous donors and grant makers has enabled a diverse range of crucial projects to happen. The SVR’s flagship locomotive, Hagley Hall has been overhauled, and is now back into steam; the Bridgnorth Locomotive Works roof and crane appeal is in progress; the majestic Falling Sands Viaduct restored; 14 heritage apprentices trained and much, much more.

The vision for the next 50 years is to create a world-class heritage railway, with ambitious projects and programmes that engage people and provide a meaningful understanding of the power of steam and diesel.
Our Objectives

To advance education for the benefit of the public by financing the acquisition, restoration, preservation and operation of heritage locomotives, coaches, wagons, buildings, track and other associated infrastructure.

Establishing buildings to house and preserve the Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust rolling stock collection.

Providing education and interpretive displays for the travelling public.

Providing educational and skills training used in the restoration, repair and operation of historic railways to ensure their long term survival.
